Grey matter

I initially fell in love with a youtube guru's nail polish. So, I was in the hunt for a good grey polish. I came across this Rimmel London's 60 seconds nail polish.

It's 805 Grey Matter. From the bottle it looks so grey but when I applied it on my nails, it's more of blue-ish grey. Not what I expected but still it's love. I got couple of compliments from few days of wearing it.

I'm not a big fan of the brush that came with it though. It aims to make the application fast since once you put it in your nails, it would fan out and pretty much cover the rest of your nails but it's not very friendly when it comes to putting the product at the side of your nails. It can be a little messy but you can always clean it out after.

Have a great rest of the week!

Love for pasta

The classic red sauce spaghetti. I love pasta and the so many ways you can do with it. Besides the fact that it can really satisfy your appetite, you can also make it as healthy as you want. The one on the picture is probably my favourite of all the pastas. It's my Spicy Tuna Spaghetti. Easy to make and healthy.

I've been trying to teach myself to cook because first, I love to eat (especially home cooked meals) and second I want to be able to cook for my family and loved ones. And what would be the great way to start by doing simple recipes, right? My parents and brother are good cooks and that inspires me a lot to be good in the kitchen and not just in the dinning table. What I do is I watch them while they cook and ask them questions. I also love watching cooking shows and reading recipes in magazines.

From a cooking show that I like to watch, I've recreated her recipe of Chicken on White Sauce with spinach. It's very simple and again, you have the option of making it healthy because of the low fat milk option for the sauce and whole grain pasta, plus of course the spinach.

What's your favourite pasta dish?

Being creative

What do you do with things that you don't really use?

I found some accessories I was not able to wear, some I've just used once. Then I saw a sexy coffee bottle waiting to be recycled.

These are the accessories I found just sitting in my jewelry box. These aren't the most expensive things but some of them are given to me by friends and family that's why I also wanted to keep them and use them even in an unconventional way.

I decided to do a decorative piece out of these things and I even dug some lace and colourful zipper I can use to jazz it up.

Here's the "finish product", I might add other things but here it is

I'm planning to add a fabric on top of it so I can hang some earrings there or just pile up my favourite bracelet on top. :)

I just have to add this cutest thing I came across at the dollar store near our place, I think this is perfect to bring with you when travelling.

That would be it for this post. I hope you find this interesting.
Take care everyone.

The first of many.

I originally planned of creating a blog concentrating on nail polish only for I love nail polish, different colors, glitters and arts you can use. Now, I was deciding what to put up as my first entry, I decided to do a nail polish post.

I love how nail polish can change my mood (yes, it does). When I feel a little sad and down, I like to do my nails and wear a bright (usually) colour and I instantly feel better and beautiful. This particular colour I chose because it's february and I feel like RED suits this time of the year very well, not that I don't wear this on the other month.

It's from La Senza. I remember I got this on sale for about less than 2 dollars (Canadian). It's name is Santiago Chile.

I used a base (Seche base) and a clear polish on top from Revlon.

This is the second time I wore this polish and I really am so pleased with it. The color is gorgeous. It didn't chip for a little more than a week the first time I had it on.

How about you guys, what is your favourite colour?

Hi, my name is Ali.

I’ve decided to start my own blog today (well, tonight coz its 10:09 in the evening as I’m writing this). I’m never a fan of blogs, to be very honest, for the simply reason that I’m not a kind of person who would spend hours in front of the computer reading just about anything. I preferred watching videos more because that way I just have to listen to the person and not worry about reading every word in front of me. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading books and magazines, I could actually spend my whole relaxation day with a good book but reading it on the computer is not really my thing, until I came across Kandee Johnson’s blog (the famous make up artist/youtuber), who is one the MUA I really adore, that I started liking it. I found myself visiting few times but as I went back to school, I didn’t have time to read or even watch youtube videos. But few days ago, off from work, I found Bubbi’s blog (another youtube famous icon), I found myself so into her blogs and got inspired to do my own, so here I’m starting my own blog where I will be sharing my experiences, learnings and be expressing my thoughts which I hope I can look back few years from now.

I hope to someday share it with the people and somehow I can inspire others as well just like the people I mentioned above.

I will be posting different things from girly stuff like make up, to food, to some things about travels and maybe about nature.

Much Love.
