DIYs: Earrings and Beanies Organizer

I don't wanna bore you with long intro about how and why I decided to do this. I just wanted a cuter way to store my things (everyday things) and to recycle so of the stuff that I saw around our house. So, let's get started.

From this

To this

then this

What I did was just to wrap a cloth my Mother have with some double sided tape, and to secure it even more, I stitch the two ends together. Now, I have a cute little bin for my beanies and gloves.

Next

The materials

Foam, Fabric of choice, double sided tape

Then, the finish product.

I've been storing my earrings in a plastic crafts storage container where I just put together in one section the small ones, the bigger one on the other section and the longer earrings on the next but I honestly didn't like it, I often just get to use what is on the top and just forget about the other things I have or when I'm preparing in the morning I don't have the time to dig in the containers. So this is perfect for me. I see everything.

Now, I know this will not work for everybody because some might have a larger collection than mine or the materials aren't available because the two main things I used just came from a box of I don't even remember what it is but I hope I inspired you to reuse, recycle and be creative.

Also, I'm aware that there a ton of storage bins and organizers out there that are ready to use and affordable but I still think making your own little storage makes organizing more fun and personalized.

Thank you for reading. :)

Midnight Sky Nails

Happy friday!

Meet the lovely couple, Nicole by O.P.I's Wavy Navy and Revlon's Blue Mosaic. :D

I've worn them both alone. Loved the Wavy Navy, I have a blog post featuring this baby too, but on the other hand, I have a mix feeling about the Blue Mosaic when I wore it. Let me describe it first, it is a clear base polish with small blue glitters mixed with bigger glitters in silver and almost like a blue green color. So when I had it, I put layers and layers of it to have a full on glittery nail polish which I am not sure if I am a fan of. It's great looking but, at the same time, too bold for me. Plus, if you're a nail polish junky, I'm pretty sure you'll know how hard it is to remove glitter nail polish, especially what I did, lol! Of course there are tons of tutorials on Youtube on how to easily remove them, you might wanna check them out if you have the same problem I had.

This is about 2 thin coats of the "Wavy Navy" and a light swipe of the "Blue Mosaic" on top.
I suggest using a nail base coat especially if you're dealing with dark polishes to save you from the stains it might give you. I also put a thin coat of it (mine here is Revlon's Multi care base and top coat - love it) to smooth the glitter feel.

How's it going? I've been totally loving my nail combo, it reminds me of a peaceful night with lots of stars. Thank you for reading and please let me know what you think.

Happiness in a bottle

Hello everybody! Happy monday!

I was planning to do a nail polish post but opt to this little project instead. I've been reading two books at the moment, "The Happiness Project" and " Eat, Pray, Love". Now, I've started the latter about middle of last year but I'm still about half way through it, I don't know exactly why. Don't get me wrong, I like the book so much, I guess I need to really take an effort to sit and just read. I always get distracted whenever I pick it up and read it. They both are great books, very inspirational. That's why I was motivated to start my "jar of happiness". My life isn't "unhappy", in fact I think it's great, but I think we all do somethings to help us be more positive and be more happy (or inspire other people to take actions for their own picker-upper).

I really believe that no matter how big or small the effort is, it can make a difference. Now, what exactly I'm doing? I decorated a jar, then everyday I write in a little piece of paper what made me smile or laugh or happy or excited or brighten my day or just anything that I really love about that day then put it the jar. I know there are days that aren't really pretty but having this little jar, at the end of the day, I find myself sitting down, reflecting and really focusing on the "best moment" in my day was makes a big difference on how I end my day. Sometimes, we can consumed with all the unpleasant things that is happening in our busy lives but we should always remember that no matter how bad the day was, there will always be that one (or more) "happy moment" worth smiling for.

This is the same jar I used to put different cute stuff and served as my decoration in my night table. I thought this year, it could serve a much greater purpose and be my little jar of happiness.

I hope this made you smile and have a great week. :) Thank you for reading.

Happy New Year!

Hello! Happy new year!!!!

Another year, another fresh start.

How are you doing?

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday like I did. I celebrated my birthday, Christmas and New year with my loved ones. Now, it's time to go back to work and "back to reality".

I wanna share what nail polish I've been loving this week. I might still be in holiday mood that's why I find myself so in love with this.

This is Revlon's Copperglaze Platinum (just in case the picture is too small). Immediately after Missglamorazzi from YouTube said this is a "beautiful rosegold colour", I know I will buy and have this one for myself. I like how this makes my fingers look so clean and elegant.

I don't know why this looks festive to me, maybe because of the shiny finish. LOL! I didn't put top coat, yet it still looks so shiny. I have two coats and I'm done. I'm impress because based on my experience, polishes that are on the "nude" side tends to need at least 3 coats before I can get the colour
I want. Yay for that.

As always, thank you for spending time reading my blog and hope we all have a wonderful day.

Nail of the Week #2

Ever since I bought a nail polish from New York Color (NYC), I've been meaning to buy another one, their taupe-y color polish because I just love how simple yet sophisticated it looks on nails.

So fast track, few months later, here it is, my nails enjoying this beautiful color.

NYC in Park Avenue

Along side, I bought and been trying out this new base / top coat for Revlon.

Last weekend, we put up our Christmas tree. I'm very excited for the holiday. This definitely is my favorite holiday.

Nail polish of the week

With all the busy schedules, I literally just painted my nails once a week which normally would be on a saturday night. I don't have the same luxury of time I had before that i can switch my nail polish every two or three days. Haha! But that isn't big of a deal for me, I kinda like it, I was able to enjoy my painted nails more now. I can test out it's lasting power too.

Having said that, here's my nail polish for the past week.

It is Revlon's "Iced Mauve". A very pretty old rose colour. With just a base (Seche Base), it took 4 days before I notice big chipping, so not bad considering the things it went through with my busy hands at work. :)

And before I say good night, here are some beautiful pictures of my everyday sunrise and sunsets.

I really love the colours on this last picture, it just is so beautiful and a really good way to end a tiring day.

I hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
