DIYs: Earrings and Beanies Organizer

I don't wanna bore you with long intro about how and why I decided to do this. I just wanted a cuter way to store my things (everyday things) and to recycle so of the stuff that I saw around our house. So, let's get started.

From this

To this

then this

What I did was just to wrap a cloth my Mother have with some double sided tape, and to secure it even more, I stitch the two ends together. Now, I have a cute little bin for my beanies and gloves.

Next

The materials

Foam, Fabric of choice, double sided tape

Then, the finish product.

I've been storing my earrings in a plastic crafts storage container where I just put together in one section the small ones, the bigger one on the other section and the longer earrings on the next but I honestly didn't like it, I often just get to use what is on the top and just forget about the other things I have or when I'm preparing in the morning I don't have the time to dig in the containers. So this is perfect for me. I see everything.

Now, I know this will not work for everybody because some might have a larger collection than mine or the materials aren't available because the two main things I used just came from a box of I don't even remember what it is but I hope I inspired you to reuse, recycle and be creative.

Also, I'm aware that there a ton of storage bins and organizers out there that are ready to use and affordable but I still think making your own little storage makes organizing more fun and personalized.

Thank you for reading. :)

Midnight Sky Nails

Happy friday!

Meet the lovely couple, Nicole by O.P.I's Wavy Navy and Revlon's Blue Mosaic. :D

I've worn them both alone. Loved the Wavy Navy, I have a blog post featuring this baby too, but on the other hand, I have a mix feeling about the Blue Mosaic when I wore it. Let me describe it first, it is a clear base polish with small blue glitters mixed with bigger glitters in silver and almost like a blue green color. So when I had it, I put layers and layers of it to have a full on glittery nail polish which I am not sure if I am a fan of. It's great looking but, at the same time, too bold for me. Plus, if you're a nail polish junky, I'm pretty sure you'll know how hard it is to remove glitter nail polish, especially what I did, lol! Of course there are tons of tutorials on Youtube on how to easily remove them, you might wanna check them out if you have the same problem I had.

This is about 2 thin coats of the "Wavy Navy" and a light swipe of the "Blue Mosaic" on top.
I suggest using a nail base coat especially if you're dealing with dark polishes to save you from the stains it might give you. I also put a thin coat of it (mine here is Revlon's Multi care base and top coat - love it) to smooth the glitter feel.

How's it going? I've been totally loving my nail combo, it reminds me of a peaceful night with lots of stars. Thank you for reading and please let me know what you think.

Happiness in a bottle

Hello everybody! Happy monday!

I was planning to do a nail polish post but opt to this little project instead. I've been reading two books at the moment, "The Happiness Project" and " Eat, Pray, Love". Now, I've started the latter about middle of last year but I'm still about half way through it, I don't know exactly why. Don't get me wrong, I like the book so much, I guess I need to really take an effort to sit and just read. I always get distracted whenever I pick it up and read it. They both are great books, very inspirational. That's why I was motivated to start my "jar of happiness". My life isn't "unhappy", in fact I think it's great, but I think we all do somethings to help us be more positive and be more happy (or inspire other people to take actions for their own picker-upper).

I really believe that no matter how big or small the effort is, it can make a difference. Now, what exactly I'm doing? I decorated a jar, then everyday I write in a little piece of paper what made me smile or laugh or happy or excited or brighten my day or just anything that I really love about that day then put it the jar. I know there are days that aren't really pretty but having this little jar, at the end of the day, I find myself sitting down, reflecting and really focusing on the "best moment" in my day was makes a big difference on how I end my day. Sometimes, we can consumed with all the unpleasant things that is happening in our busy lives but we should always remember that no matter how bad the day was, there will always be that one (or more) "happy moment" worth smiling for.

This is the same jar I used to put different cute stuff and served as my decoration in my night table. I thought this year, it could serve a much greater purpose and be my little jar of happiness.

I hope this made you smile and have a great week. :) Thank you for reading.

Happy New Year!

Hello! Happy new year!!!!

Another year, another fresh start.

How are you doing?

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday like I did. I celebrated my birthday, Christmas and New year with my loved ones. Now, it's time to go back to work and "back to reality".

I wanna share what nail polish I've been loving this week. I might still be in holiday mood that's why I find myself so in love with this.

This is Revlon's Copperglaze Platinum (just in case the picture is too small). Immediately after Missglamorazzi from YouTube said this is a "beautiful rosegold colour", I know I will buy and have this one for myself. I like how this makes my fingers look so clean and elegant.

I don't know why this looks festive to me, maybe because of the shiny finish. LOL! I didn't put top coat, yet it still looks so shiny. I have two coats and I'm done. I'm impress because based on my experience, polishes that are on the "nude" side tends to need at least 3 coats before I can get the colour
I want. Yay for that.

As always, thank you for spending time reading my blog and hope we all have a wonderful day.

Nail of the Week #2

Ever since I bought a nail polish from New York Color (NYC), I've been meaning to buy another one, their taupe-y color polish because I just love how simple yet sophisticated it looks on nails.

So fast track, few months later, here it is, my nails enjoying this beautiful color.

NYC in Park Avenue

Along side, I bought and been trying out this new base / top coat for Revlon.

Last weekend, we put up our Christmas tree. I'm very excited for the holiday. This definitely is my favorite holiday.

Nail polish of the week

With all the busy schedules, I literally just painted my nails once a week which normally would be on a saturday night. I don't have the same luxury of time I had before that i can switch my nail polish every two or three days. Haha! But that isn't big of a deal for me, I kinda like it, I was able to enjoy my painted nails more now. I can test out it's lasting power too.

Having said that, here's my nail polish for the past week.

It is Revlon's "Iced Mauve". A very pretty old rose colour. With just a base (Seche Base), it took 4 days before I notice big chipping, so not bad considering the things it went through with my busy hands at work. :)

And before I say good night, here are some beautiful pictures of my everyday sunrise and sunsets.

I really love the colours on this last picture, it just is so beautiful and a really good way to end a tiring day.

I hope you all have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.

Perfect Coral

I've been into corals lately, with clothes, blush and nail polish. I notice this especially when I finally organized my nail polish collection. This particular shade, though, is probably my favourite. It is just my perfect shade of coral. I actually don't want to remove it, haha!

I don't think this has a name, they only have one shade of coral so that might be the reason.
Application is a little streaky, making it hard to apply, it's creamy and mold nicely on nails once it's dry.

This is how it looks like outside. I didn't put top coat, by the way. It's the first time I wear nail polish from this brand, I wanna test how well it will last without any help from the top coat.

This is fourth day, it chipped a little on my ring finger nail but the rest stayed pretty strong till day seven. I don't wanna remove it but my nails need some cleaning and a little break from polish. :)

What is your favourite nail polish colour?

Polka dotted nails

I love the combination of pink and black.

The pink base is Revlon's "Tulip" and I used a ball pen to create dots of the Sally Hansen's "Black out". I decided to align the dots for a neater look because I have them in all my fingers.

Let me know what you think. :)

Long lashes

Hi! How are you all doing? I hope you're doing well. I've been sick for couple of days. Thankfully, I'm better now, I can go back to the swing of things and I'm pretty excited with my up coming vacation to the Philippines, hence I need to start preparing. Before I jump into those things, I just want to share my new "lash routine". My lashes are my babies. LOL. It's probably my favourite part of doing my makeup.

My new fave mascara is this Maybelline Illegal length fiber extensions. Because my lashes are naturally straight, I like using the waterproof formula and of course mascaras that lengthen them. Also, I have the blackest black. I love combing (the pink cute little comb with a spooly from the dollar store) through it after it dried and voila! instant volume!

Whenever I look at my pictures I would always try to see if my lashes is noticeable and I would be happy if it is. I know, I'm weird like that. :)

What is your favourite makeup products? I would love to know.

Tulip tango

From Maybelline's Spring collection "Tulip tango". They actually have 3 more colors, based on what I saw in the store, but I only picked this on up to try. It's the perfect coral for me. The application is a little bit of a disappointment, it was hard to get an even application. It took 3 coats to even it out. The 3rd coat had to be thicker as well. But the color is just so gorgeous! Also, it dries pretty fast and I liked the brush.

Have you tried any of their spring colors?

Recent buys: April 28, 2012

Time for some goodies I bought and enjoying. It's a combination of different things from nails to makeup to accessory. These are the things I bought since my last post.

Let's start with the makeup and a skincare, shall we?

I was planning to buy the Clinique All about eyes concealer because I heard good feedbacks on those, but when I got to the store, the MUA talk me into buying the Biotherm eye cream because according to her, my main issue is not dark circles but dehydration of the skin under my skin. Needless to say I gave in, even though I didn't plan on spending money on another eye cream, I still have my Olay one, but yeah I still bought it. I've been using it for few weeks now, I haven't seen any major improvement yet but hopefully it'll make some difference for my under eye area. Those late nights and lack of sleep is taking its toll on me that's why I'm into eye products lately and of course trying to be good at sleeping early and taking care of my skin.

She also picked up the CoverGirl concealer instead of the clinique one. I didn't really liked the CG so yesterday, I picked up the Maybelline Age rewind under eye concealer. Also, I'm excited try out this L'oreal True match foundation. I love the powder version of this that's why I thought I could give this a try.

Hot Tamale and Peach Satin

Finally got myself the Maybelline's Dream bouncy blush. In the store, I got to try the Hot tamale but I also loved the Peach Satin.

On to the nails, two of these already made their appearance in my latest nail post, haha!
From left: Nicole by OPI's Play Fair, L'oreal's Versailles Romance, Sally hansen's Black out and Yellow Mellow, and Revlon's Dreamer.

Orgnx Moringa Oil Complex. This is suppose to revive dry damaged hair. I use this every time after I wash my hair and I love how it makes my hair shiny without feeling greasy.

Lastly, an Aldo watch. I'm not a big watch person but every time I see rose gold watch I can't help myself but want one. So, until I can decide on whether I should buy the Michael Kors watch, I'm pretty happy with my Aldo one.

Any fave buys you want to share? Feel free to share it here. Thank you for your time and until next time. :) Have a great WEEKEND.

Your not so ordinary French Nails

While I was doing this, I was trying to come up with a good title, then yes, I did not came up with anything better than this (ha ha) so please forgive my very creative title thinking mind.

While I was picking up these nail polishes in my box, my mother was like "how in the world would you need all of those nail polishes all at once?". And the reason is this

So that is where the "french tip" came from.

From left: Revlon (915) in Creme Brulee (used as base), Nicole by OPI in Change the world, Sally hansen (360) in Mellow Yellow, L'oreal (105) in Club prive, Nicole by OPI in Play fair, and Revlon mini in Butterfly

I have this little obsession of taking a picture of the name of the polish in the bottle itself and I hope you'll be able to see it. :)

Personally, I think French tip is timeless and very elegant. I used to always go for that and love how I get compliment each time. Now, this colorful approach screams spring to me.

I'm hoping to make your day a little colorful. Have a great day!
