Recent buys: April 28, 2012

Time for some goodies I bought and enjoying. It's a combination of different things from nails to makeup to accessory. These are the things I bought since my last post.

Let's start with the makeup and a skincare, shall we?

I was planning to buy the Clinique All about eyes concealer because I heard good feedbacks on those, but when I got to the store, the MUA talk me into buying the Biotherm eye cream because according to her, my main issue is not dark circles but dehydration of the skin under my skin. Needless to say I gave in, even though I didn't plan on spending money on another eye cream, I still have my Olay one, but yeah I still bought it. I've been using it for few weeks now, I haven't seen any major improvement yet but hopefully it'll make some difference for my under eye area. Those late nights and lack of sleep is taking its toll on me that's why I'm into eye products lately and of course trying to be good at sleeping early and taking care of my skin.

She also picked up the CoverGirl concealer instead of the clinique one. I didn't really liked the CG so yesterday, I picked up the Maybelline Age rewind under eye concealer. Also, I'm excited try out this L'oreal True match foundation. I love the powder version of this that's why I thought I could give this a try.

Hot Tamale and Peach Satin

Finally got myself the Maybelline's Dream bouncy blush. In the store, I got to try the Hot tamale but I also loved the Peach Satin.

On to the nails, two of these already made their appearance in my latest nail post, haha!
From left: Nicole by OPI's Play Fair, L'oreal's Versailles Romance, Sally hansen's Black out and Yellow Mellow, and Revlon's Dreamer.

Orgnx Moringa Oil Complex. This is suppose to revive dry damaged hair. I use this every time after I wash my hair and I love how it makes my hair shiny without feeling greasy.

Lastly, an Aldo watch. I'm not a big watch person but every time I see rose gold watch I can't help myself but want one. So, until I can decide on whether I should buy the Michael Kors watch, I'm pretty happy with my Aldo one.

Any fave buys you want to share? Feel free to share it here. Thank you for your time and until next time. :) Have a great WEEKEND.

Your not so ordinary French Nails

While I was doing this, I was trying to come up with a good title, then yes, I did not came up with anything better than this (ha ha) so please forgive my very creative title thinking mind.

While I was picking up these nail polishes in my box, my mother was like "how in the world would you need all of those nail polishes all at once?". And the reason is this

So that is where the "french tip" came from.

From left: Revlon (915) in Creme Brulee (used as base), Nicole by OPI in Change the world, Sally hansen (360) in Mellow Yellow, L'oreal (105) in Club prive, Nicole by OPI in Play fair, and Revlon mini in Butterfly

I have this little obsession of taking a picture of the name of the polish in the bottle itself and I hope you'll be able to see it. :)

Personally, I think French tip is timeless and very elegant. I used to always go for that and love how I get compliment each time. Now, this colorful approach screams spring to me.

I'm hoping to make your day a little colorful. Have a great day!

What makes you happy?

I know I'm not the first to do this, I've seen couple of bloggers post on a regular basis compilation of different things that are special to them, things that made their day/week or just simply the things they love. I figured I could do the same. First I thought of doing it on my personal dairy but realized it would be more fun if I'll share it here. I intend to do this kind of post every now and then. I also read that listing down different things that made you happy even the smallest, simplest random things will help you appreciate them more and will then make you feel much better. So shall we start?

Since this is my first post of this kind, I will be sharing some of the things that no matter how bad my day is, they will make me feel better.

First off, fresh flowers. Their beauty never fails to put a smile on my face.

Next, coffee. I'm more of a coffee drinker than tea. Nothing feels better than a sip of hot coffee after a full day of cold weather at work.

And there was makeup. I think it's needless to explain this *insert a big smile here*. I know I've mentioned this on my previous post, so I won't go there again. I just like to add some thing that I like to do if I'm feeling a little sad, I like to grab my eyelash curler, give my lashes a little love and make me feel a little beautiful. Try it with your favourite part of your routine, be it curling your lashes, putting a little bit of blush or wearing your favourite lipstick.

So, what makes you happy? I hope this made you smile just like how it did to me.

Flower Inspired nails

I rarely do nail arts but I love flowers so much that I have to do one that is inspired by the flower I received last week. So this is the inspiration

I just fell in love with the colors.

I first applied 3 coats of this Sally Hansen nail polish in Mellow Yellow. Okay, so this is my second try on yellow nail polish because I the first one that I tried, also from Sally Hansen, didn't work out well with my complexion. It somehow made my hands look like I'm sick, which is not something you would want, right? I have to admit I was a little skeptical with this color as well, thinking it'll have the same effect but I saw Missglamorazzi's YT spring nail polish faves and she included this, so I picked it up. What do you think?
This is also my first on this line "Xtreme Wear" and I find it a little hard to work with, I don't know if it's just the color but I actually had to put a thicker coat to be able to get a good application. I like how bright it is though.

After letting it completely dry, I dab NYC nail polish in Wall Street with a makeup sponge at the tip and kind of extend the color down on the side.

I hope you can see the design here.

These are all the nail polish and the makeup sponge that I used. I hope this was interesting. Stay safe everybody.

Also, I noticed that I have few new followers and I wanted to thank you all for following and sharing your time with me. Let me know what you think about this creation and if there's any question you have, let me know as well.

NYC's Wall Street

Few years ago, I had a not-so-good experience with New York Color's (NYC) nail polish. I was just starting up with nail polish back then and not to mention I don't have enough money to spend on more expensive ones because I was still in school. I remember being turned off by it because it didn't last on my nails, like few hours after I applied it, it'll peel right off.

I saw a youtube guru who featured NYC in her spring nail polish faves and when I was at the drugstore last week, I thought I should give it another try. I fell in love with this color.

Just the right baby pink that I've been wanting to have.

Here's how it looks on my nails

This is actually the third day that I have this on, so I'm very happy with that. The consistency is not bad.  While this is their "Minute quick dry" line I don't think it's a fast drying nail polish, but with the price, I really don't mind waiting a lil bit for it to dry. :)

I'm tempted to go back and buy the brown polish that I saw when I got this, so be prepared to see more from this brand.

This one is with a natural lighting.

I hope this has inspired us all to try out these not-so-expensive-but-worth-trying-out products. Have a great week and again, thank you for your time. *hugs*

Recent Buys: April 2012

Hi my friends. How are you? I hope you're all doing well.

There are times when you're feeling a little down, stressed out or you feel like nothing seems to go right. That is what I've been feeling for the last couple of days and there are things I like to do to help me relax a bit or to just get my mind off of what's bothering me. Sometimes I like to eat some of my comfort foods like ice cream, chocolates or cook something. Sometimes I like to go to my local drugstore or to the near by mall and just immerse myself into the colourful makeup, nail polishes and clothes or to just feel the chaos around many people busy with their own thing. Even if I won't be buying stuff, but just being able to channel out my mind from what's going on in my day is enough for me. I don't know if there are a lot of ladies like me but I know I'm not alone with this (ha ha) and I must say, it helps.

That was a long intro for my "haul" but I also would like to open up a bit and share my thoughts here because this blog serves not only for beauty purpose but to express my thoughts as well. Even though I don't update my blog everyday, I feel so happy every time I was able to put something up. It makes me feel good that I was able to share what I love to the people / community I know I share the same passion with.

Okay unto to the things I picked up for the last couple of days.

I finally was able to get my hands on this very popular "Aussie 3 minute miracle" deeeeeep conditioner (ha ha). I used it yesterday and besides the smell, I love it. I also picked up Revlon lip butters in "Strawberry shortcakes" and "Tutti frutti". I'm loving the Maybelline's Illegal length mascara and my very first nail polish from them "Express finish in Tulip tango".

These EOS lip balm went on sale last week so I bought "sweet mint" and "honeydew".

I've been wanting to buy a nude shoes for a while so went I saw this on Winners I know I have to buy them. Even though I'm petite, I still prefer flats or these kind of heels. I'm always going for the comfortable-yet-a-little-bit-stylish look.

Lastly, this lacy top I also got at Winners. It's a little loose and very sheer which is perfect for summer.

We live in a world full of beautiful things and these are what really matters.

Thank you for your time and I hope we all have a great week end.
:)
